WEBKEY DOWNLOAD PAGE

How do you keep track of all the ID's, passwords, registration codes, hints and other login miscellanea that you encounter while threading your way around the web? A neat notebook at your side? The back of an envelope? Or, like the author of WebKey before he wrote it, numerous slips of paper around your workplace?

WebKey is a Windows program that is designed to be instantly available on your desktop (from the system tray) for keeping track of all the login data one needs to browse the web. It is only as good as you are at entering this data as you register on a site for the first time. If you do that faithfully, you'll have all your registration info at your fingertips.

    Installation Guide

Important note: The download is available as a self-extracting .EXE file. It is approximately 1.65 Mb in size.

Move (or copy) WEBKEY.EXE to a convenient area on your hard drive before running it. The necessary setup files will be automatically extracted to the directory it's in.

From that area, you should run SETUP.EXE and the installation program will take you through the necessary steps, help you make the necessary decisions, and install the program files to the location on your hard drive that you wish.

The installation program does not create a desktop icon. You may do that through the Windows Explorer.

The best way to use WebKey is to add it to your Startup Menu. That way, it's always ready to bring up for reference or to add new registration info. To do this in Windows NT, right click on the taskbar, click Properties, Start Menu Programs tab, Add button. Browse to your Webkey directory (folder) and select Webkey.EXE. Similarly in other Windows versions.

The program may be uninstalled through Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. If you are updating a previously installed version, you may uninstall the old version first but it's not essential. The new program files will overprint existing ones if you install to the same directory.

It is strongly suggested you read WEBKEY.DOC and the README file before running WebKey for the first time. Not essential, just advisable.
