Also, "mysteries" as applied here should be understood as hard-edged suspense crime thrillers, not mysteries of the universe, cults, religions, the human soul, romance, etc. Think Michael Connelly, Stieg Larsson, Harlan Coben.

Authors of books in any genre may advertise their books on this site and/or swap links. The way it works is that you send your ad and make an offer and I do the best I can in terms of space, placement and duration.

BOOK SUBMISSIONS
Because my pile of books for review from publishing houses has become so large relative to my reading speed, I can't encourage authors whose work I'm not familiar with to submit their books for review, unless...

Books submitted by authors stand a better chance if they are major mystery award winners (Edgar, Shamus, etc.); authors who have had a prior book on major best sellers lists; or authors with a well established following in the genre whose work I should get familiar with.

Authors who have not yet attained that exalted level but want the kind of feedback and analysis that a review would provide, a reading/reviewing fee of $200 will buy you priority. It may be charged by credit card or by check accompanying submissions. This will not affect the review. It will, however, ensure my getting to your book.

A strongly negative reading or a book deemed not to belong within the mystery genre may result in no review on Critical Mystery Tour. The author submits his or her book with that understanding and the fee is not refundable.

The first author who submits their book with a Kindle will get their book reviewed here.
